The Beginning

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:1-5

Before creation the world was void of light and life.
Before Christ’s birth the world was hidden in darkness, longing for a Savior.

Maybe you feel hidden in darkness right now, like the world before Genesis, like Joseph stuck in prison, or like David fearing for his life in a cave.

If so, this is for you. This is for the forgotten, the hurting, the addicted, the anxious, the sick, the grieving, the broken, the aching, and the unseen.

This is for those hidden in their loneliness;  imprisoned by the deepest, darkest, aching pain your heart has ever known.

Because whatever pain and darkness you may feel trapped in, there is a hope greater than that pain, and it can bring you the brightest of lights.

So know that you are truly seen in this darkness, known in your pain, and loved far greater than your mind can fathom. Because that truth is where life starts to beautifully unfold.

That is your beginning.

In case you want to get a closer look…

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
